Can the Road Chef 2.0 be turned on remotely?

Yes when used with a 12 volt management system. The oven does not have built in remote controls. When power is supplied to the unit it automatically starts and enters a preset preheat mode at 180°C for 20 minutes. This allows management systems to control when the oven receives power.

Is the cigarette lighter connection suitable for regular use?

An adapter is included. However the oven draws 8.3 amps at 12 volts. This can push the limits of many cigarette lighter or Merit sockets. For regular use the Anderson plug connection is recommended.
