Our story...
Every great adventure starts with a “What if?”
Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.
We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.
Whether you're planning a weekend beach trip or the big lap around Oz, getting prepped can feel like a mission. We're here to make it simple. From expert guides and part finders to trusted advice and helpful customer service, we’re your starting point for any off-grid adventure.
We only stock gear we’d use ourselves. From brands like Aussie Traveller, MSA, CampBoss, BLA, Hardkorr, Superior Engineering, Tuff Terrain and Outback Explorer. With over 250 brands on our shelves and growing, we’re proud to support fellow adventurers at every stage of their journey.
We’re 100% Aussie-owned and operated, with our Brisbane showroom open 6 days a week. Swing by Acacia Ridge Monday to Friday (7am–3pm) or Saturday (8am–1pm), or get in touch to chat about your next trip.
Gear up. Get out.
Questions we get asked a lot
The things people want to know before their first order with us.
Is Outback Equipment an Australian company?
Yes. We are 100% Australian owned and operated, trading as Outback Equipment (Aust) Pty Ltd. Orders are picked and packed by our own team at our Brisbane warehouse.
Who owns Outback Equipment?
The business was started by a couple of mates selling light bars out of a garage, and it is still Australian owned and operated today. The trading entity is Outback Equipment (Aust) Pty Ltd, based in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.
Where is Outback Equipment based, and can I visit?
Come and see us at 1 Murdoch Circuit, Acacia Ridge, Brisbane QLD 4110. The showroom sits at the front of the warehouse, so what is on display is backed by stock out the back, and there is a working awning stand set up for demos.
Open Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm (Can change based on public holidys but we try keep our opening hours as updated as we can on google). Get in touch through our Help Centre to check a specific product is on the floor before you make the trip.
Does Outback Equipment have stores in other states?
No. Acacia Ridge is our only showroom. Customers in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Canberra order online and we freight it out to them. Running one site instead of a chain of shopfronts is a big part of how the pricing stays where it is.
Is Outback Equipment safe to order from?
Yes, and you do not have to take our word for it. We have a registered ABN, a physical address you can drive to, a showroom open six days a week, and a customer service team reachable through our Help Centre. Checkout runs through secure payment providers, with Afterpay, Zip Pay and Zip Money available alongside card payment.
One thing worth knowing: www.outbackequipment.com.au is our online store. If you find a site using our name or logo with prices well under ours, check it against this domain before you hand over card details.
Where can I read Outback Equipment reviews?
Verified customer reviews sit on our product pages, and our reviews and testimonials page links through to Trustpilot, Google Reviews and ProductReview. The feedback comes from customers who have put the gear and the service to the test, and we publish the good with the bad.
