So what makes iDRIVE different?

iDRIVE includes an automatic control function that changes the level of throttle performance based on pedal pressure. So if you are in traffic and accelerating gently the iDRIVE will select setting 1. If you are accelerating hard to overtake, towing a heavy trailer, or just having fun the iDRIVE will select 9. The result is the smoothest aftermarket control module on the market.

Why IDRIVE

Rather than a traditional accelerator cable, many modern vehicles use 'fly by wire' throttle technology. This system relies on a sensor that measures the pedal pressure and position and sends a signal to the vehicle's engine computer which converts to acceleration. Many of these fly by wire systems have a noticeable delay. iDRIVE allows you to tune the signal from the accelerator pedal with multiple inbuilt settings to ensure you find a setting that suits your driving style, although there are other products on the market that can offer this performance.

iDrive has transformed my Challenger!

I purchased a second hand 2012 Mitsubishi PB Challenger in early 2020. The previous owner had spent a lot of money on it setting it up for long-range touring. I love the car but one thing I noticed when first driving it was the 'doughy' throttle response. I had read a lot about the iDrive on various forums and had seen it advertised on 4WD Action, so thought I'd give it a go. I'm very glad I did! It has made a massive difference to the way the Challenger drives. I have settled on U1 mode for regular driving (U9 is ridiculous, in a good way, but a bit too touchy). I also tested out the Economy (or 'E') modes, but only on the road so far. I can see that the E settings will be very useful on more technical trails, to ensure that a slip on the throttle will not result in wheelspin. Even if it wasn't for the 'E' settings for off-road, I still feel that the unit was worth purchasing as it makes the car so much better to drive on road.

Couldn't be happier with the product. It did as advertised, took the lag out of the acceleration and turned a snail into a rabbit out of the blocks. Product is easy the fit, no technology required. Thanks for the good service also.
