There’s no doubt the Australian sun packs a punch, often putting products like solar panels to the test, but with these Hard Korr heavy duty portable fold out solar panels will not only survive in harsh conditions, but thrive in them. We’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about these Hard Korr portable solar panels so we had to see for ourselves by taking them out to Double Point Island on a record hot day. Built with a solid copper backing to enhance cell durability, the Crocskin cell armour technology and an extra-strong 1680D canvas, it’s easy to see why they were awarded two Global Media Awards at the 2018 SEMA Show for innovative design. We set them up in just a few minutes connecting them to the Hard Korr battery in the back of the ute for the weekend. After we connected the leads from the inbuilt solar controller and placed them in the sun, we saw the effects on the battery instantly and it never cut out or dropped below full, even when running lights, a fridge and other accessories.

The materials used to construct the blanket are both heat resistant and impact-resistant. The cell armour coating has been specifically designed with this in mind. The extra protective barrier for the solar cells, increases their durability and lifespan. It’s obvious that the design of these solar panels went through rigorous testing to get it right. Crocskin coating on these fold out solar blankets showed no signs of deterioration after an accelerated weathering test that simulated 30 years of sun exposure, which means you really get longevity and quality from Hard Korr products.

When you're in the middle of nowhere and your solar panel fails it can mean disaster for your trip – in some cases even having to cut it short or travel many kilometres to find a replacement. So, don’t take any chances on being without power and invest a long-lasting solar blanket that won’t disappoint.
