Find the Right Inlet for Your Caravan
A caravan power inlet lets you hook up to mains power when you pull into a powered site. It gives you a steady 240V connection so you can run your fridge, charge devices, and use your lights without draining your battery. It’s a small part but it plays a big role in keeping your setup running smoothly on the road.
These inlets are made to fit to the outside of your van and stay out of the way. You can pick from white or black styles to match your rig. We also stock replacement flaps for older and newer models, so it’s easy to upgrade or repair without changing your whole setup.
What Else You Might Need
-
15 Amp to 10 Amp Adapters – Connect your van to standard household power when parked at home. The Amphibian adapter is especially popular, offering a safe and reliable connection from your caravan’s 15-amp inlet to a regular 10-amp household socket. It’s a must-have accessory many caravan owners keep handy at home and on the road.
-
Battery Chargers & Inverters – keep your batteries charged and switch between mains and off-grid power
-
15A Extension Leads – reach campground power posts with durable, heavy-duty leads
-
Accessory Sockets – add or replace sockets inside your van for more plug-in points
What size power inlet does a caravan use?
Most caravans are fitted with a 15-amp power inlet. This is the standard at powered campsites across Australia. It lets you plug straight into mains power without adaptors or converters.
What’s the difference between old and new Clipsal flaps?
The design and dimensions are slightly different. Old-style flaps were used in models made before 2006. New flaps are made for current Clipsal inlets and won’t fit older housings. It’s worth checking your model or measuring before buying a replacement.
Is there a difference between a power inlet and a power outlet?
Yes. A power inlet brings 240V power into your caravan. A power outlet lets you plug devices into your van, like outdoor lights or a BBQ. They look similar but serve different purposes.
