The Uncle Pooly Recovery Kit is a comprehensive 4WD recovery setup compiled by Tuff Terrain for serious 4WD enthusiasts. This system combines heavy-duty synthetic ropes, soft shackles, and straps to handle every sticky situation on the tracks.

Uncle Pooly selected every component to prioritise capability and ease of use. This kit replaces heavy steel bow shackles with lightweight 17T soft shackles and upgrades standard 3m protectors to a massive 5m tree trunk protector. It provides the gear you need for everything from a quick snatch recovery to a complex winch operation.

Key Features & Benefits

• Extended Anchor Reach: Tuff Terrain normally supplies a 3m tree trunk protector. Pooly found this too short for massive trees in the Victorian High Country. We upgraded this kit to include an exclusive 5m 12T strap. This extra length provides secure anchoring around large gums without linking multiple straps together.

• Lightweight Winching Setup: Replaces traditional steel blocks with a lightweight 10T Rated Winch Ring and soft shackles. This system is designed to work seamlessly with synthetic rope winches, minimising weight and friction during recovery.

• Optimised Material Selection: Uses 100% Nylon for the 8T Snatch Strap to provide essential kinetic stretch, while the Extension Strap and Tree Protector use low-elongation Polyester to keep static pulls stable and controlled.

• Maximum Connection Versatility: Includes a total of six (6) 17T Soft Shackles—three with a braided sheath for abrasion resistance and three with a standard protective sheath. This ensures you always have the right connection for the job.

• Organised & Safe: Packed into a 55L Canvas Recovery Bag with 10 storage sections, plus a high-vis PVC Winch Dampener to ensure your gear is safe, sorted, and ready for your next adventure.
