Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we get asked most. Who we are, where to find us, how our promo codes work, and where to go when you need a hand.
About Outback Equipment
Who we are, what we sell, and how to check we are the real thing.
Is Outback Equipment a legitimate Australian business?
Yes. Outback Equipment (Aust) Pty Ltd is 100% Australian owned and operated. We have traded for over 10 years and run a warehouse and showroom at 1 Murdoch Circuit, Acacia Ridge, Brisbane QLD 4110. You can walk in the door six days a week, collect an order in person, or reach the team through our Help Centre.
Is outbackequipment.com.au the official Outback Equipment website?
Yes. www.outbackequipment.com.au is our online store, and every order placed there is picked and packed at our Brisbane warehouse. If you come across a site using our name or logo with prices well under ours, check it against this domain before you hand over card details.
Who owns Outback Equipment?
Outback Equipment is Australian owned and operated. The business started in a Brisbane garage, moved into a corner of a warehouse, and now runs a full warehouse and showroom in Acacia Ridge. The trading entity is Outback Equipment (Aust) Pty Ltd.
What does Outback Equipment sell?
Over 250 brands across 4x4 accessories, camping, caravan and RV, marine, fishing and 12V electrical. That takes in recovery gear, rooftop tents, awnings, portable fridges, water tanks, solar panels, DC-DC chargers, diesel heaters, tyre deflators and air compressors. We stock gear we would use ourselves rather than everything on the market.
Brands on the shelves include Aussie Traveller, MSA, CampBoss, Hardkorr and Tuff Terrain. Browse all brands.
Are Outback Equipment reviews any good?
Judge for yourself. Verified customer reviews sit on our product pages, and our reviews and testimonials page links through to our profiles on Trustpilot, Google Reviews and ProductReview. They come from people who have put the gear and the service to the test, and we publish the good and the bad.
Promo codes, discounts and rewards
Where the real codes live, and how to stop paying full price.
Does Outback Equipment have a promo code?
Yes. There are two ways to get one.
First-time customers get $15 off. Sign up to our email list and the welcome code lands in your inbox, ready to use at checkout on your first order.
Everyone else should watch the banner at the top of every page on this site. That is where the current promo code sits whenever a sale is running, and it is always the live one. Codes listed on third-party coupon sites tend to be expired or made up.
Is there a discount code for my first order?
Yes. Sign up to the Outback Equipment email list and we send you a code for $15 off your first order. Enter it at checkout. The signup form sits in the footer of every page and pops up on your first visit.
Where do I find current Outback Equipment deals?
Three places. The banner at the top of this site carries the current promotion and its code. Our email newsletter gets sale codes and early access before they go public. GEAR'd Rewards members get vouchers on top of whatever else is running.
What is GEAR'd Rewards?
Our free loyalty program. Members earn 10 Gear Points per $1 spent on eligible products, and those points convert to vouchers you spend on your next order. Points only credit on orders placed while logged in, so a guest checkout earns nothing. Joining costs nothing beyond an account and an email address. How GEAR'd Rewards works.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Outback Equipment gift cards are bought online and redeemed at checkout, which suits anyone shopping for a camper, four-wheel driver or fisho who is fussy about their own gear.
Stores and showroom
Where to find us in person, and what to do if you are not in Brisbane.
Does Outback Equipment have a store near me?
We have one showroom, at 1 Murdoch Circuit, Acacia Ridge, Brisbane QLD 4110. Everything else runs online, and we deliver Australia-wide, so you can order from anywhere in the country and have it sent to your door.
Does Outback Equipment have a store in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide?
No. Our only physical location is the Acacia Ridge showroom in Brisbane. Customers in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin order online and we freight it out to them. Running one site instead of a chain of shopfronts is a big part of how the pricing stays where it is.
Where is the Outback Equipment showroom?
1 Murdoch Circuit, Acacia Ridge QLD 4110, in Brisbane's southern industrial precinct. The showroom sits at the front of the same building as the warehouse, so what you see on the floor is backed by stock out the back.
What are the showroom opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm. Saturday, 8am to 1pm. Closed Sunday. Hours can shift over public holiday periods, so check with us through the Help Centre before a long drive.
Can I look at the gear before I buy?
Yes. The Acacia Ridge showroom runs working displays, including an awning stand set up for demos, and the team on the floor use this gear themselves. What is on display is a sample of the full online range, so check with us through the Help Centre first if you want to see a specific product.
Can I pick up an order instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Choose Click and Collect at checkout and pick the order up from Acacia Ridge once we email you to say it is ready. Look for the blue tick on a product, which means it is held in our warehouse rather than coming in from a supplier. Click and collect details.
Orders, delivery and support
The short version. The Help Centre carries the detail and stays current.
Do you deliver Australia-wide?
Yes. We freight to every state and territory from the Acacia Ridge warehouse, including regional and remote addresses. A handful of oversize products carry freight limitations, which show on the product page.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Freight is quoted on weight, size and destination rather than a flat rate. Every product page has a Calculate Shipping section where you enter your postcode for a price before you order. Current timeframes, express options and free shipping promotions are all covered in the Help Centre shipping articles.
Do you ship to New Zealand or overseas?
We ship to select international regions, with restrictions on some products for legal reasons. Get in touch for a quote and confirmation before you place the order.
What if I need to return something?
Get in touch before you send anything back so we can log it and point you at the right process. Current return windows, conditions and the returns form all live in the Help Centre returns section, which is kept up to date by our customer service team.
What payment options do you offer?
Card payment online and in the showroom, along with Afterpay, Zip Pay and Zip Money if you would rather spread the cost over a bigger item such as an awning, canopy or battery system. Gift cards and store credit are redeemed at checkout.
Does Outback Equipment offer trade or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Our Trade Partner program is for businesses buying in volume, and it comes with custom bulk-buy pricing, a dedicated account manager, special buys on price and product, niche range options, and collection or fast delivery. Getting set up means a conversation about what you need rather than a form. Become a trade partner.
How do I log in to my account?
Use the account icon in the top right of any page. Your account holds order history, tracking, saved shipping addresses and your GEAR'd Rewards points balance. Points only accrue on orders placed while you are logged in, so it pays to sign in before you check out.
How do I contact Outback Equipment?
Everything goes through our Help Centre. It covers ordering, delivery, returns, payments and accounts, and carries a contact form that reaches the team direct. You can also call in to the Acacia Ridge showroom during opening hours.
Still stuck?
If the answer is not here, our team in Acacia Ridge can sort it. The Help Centre carries the long-form articles on ordering, shipping, returns, payments and accounts.
