You'll be surprised how many RVs in Australia have this American style water inlet/regulator installed. 

If your tank inlet on your caravan (or boat) looks like the one in the image, it will have a 1-1/6 inch NPT thread which isn’t the same as standard plumbing fittings you can find in Australia. (A BSP threaded fitting available at any Aussie hardware store sized ‘3/4 inch’ will seem to fit for a couple of turns but then leak when pressurised.)

This tap adaptor unit has the correct thread for your water inlet. The brass snap fittings of your Flat Out hoses work best on brass and the swivel elbow adaptor enables you to have the ultimate downward connection which:

- being brass will last and handle high pressure,

- won’t leak (as is the correct thread size),

- is sleek, tidy and visually appealing,

- removes potential bump hazards as you walk around your van

- reduces load on the fitting o-rings (as the connector points downward), improving their longevity

While not all vans need this adaptor, we make it as we’ve discovered the need among our customers. To our knowledge we are the only ones making an elbow unit for this purpose entirely in brass here at Flat Out.
