Darche has been building serious camping gear for Australians since 1991.

The brand was started in regional Victoria by Darren and Cheryl O'Dwyer, two 4x4 enthusiasts who couldn't find a waterproof, practical shelter that held up on long-distance trips. So they built one themselves. The name Darche combines theirs.

Many swags and tents in the Darche range are built from heavy-duty poly/cotton ripstop canvas. Handling rain, wind, and prolonged UV exposure without degrading the way synthetic fabrics do. For even more coverage, their 360° freestanding awning is the world's first rear-mounted 360° design, covering three sides of your rig with 13.8m² of shelter on an 8-arm aluminium alloy frame. Darche was also the first brand in Australia to wind-test a freestanding awning — a 30-day programme against winds up to 55km/h.
