What to check before you buy
- Build date, not model year. The 05/2016 and 08/2020 D-Max changes both shift the mounting points.
- Airbag compatibility. A bar sold for your build date is engineered to let the front sensors read a frontal impact.
- Bumper replacement vs full bar. The EFS Stockman is a bumper replacement, so it sits tighter to the body and adds less weight out front.
- Weight and GVM. A steel bar adds mass ahead of the front axle. Factor it into payload, and check whether your springs need upgrading.
- Winch and light mounts. Confirm the bar is cut for the winch you plan to run before ordering.

Winches: most bars here are winch compatible. Match the winch's mounting pattern to the bar's cradle.
Driving lights: a bullbar is the usual mounting point. Check whether the hoop sits in front of the light.

Will a bullbar affect my Isuzu's airbags?
A bar engineered for your build date is designed to work with the vehicle's frontal sensing. Fitting a bar cut for a different build range can change how an impact is read, which is why the build date matters more than the model year.
Do I need a GVM upgrade for a steel bullbar?
Not always, but a steel bar adds weight ahead of the front axle and eats into payload. If you are already running a canopy, drawers and long-range tank, check your front axle rating and consider a spring upgrade.
What is the difference between a bumper replacement and a full bar?
A bumper replacement like the EFS Stockman takes the place of the factory bumper and sits closer to the body, adding less overhang. A full bar such as the AFN mounts forward of it for more clearance and protection.
Can I fit a winch to these bars?
Most are winch compatible, but cradle sizes differ. Check the bar's listed winch capacity and mounting pattern against your winch before ordering.
